A new collaborative initiative has been launched in Managaun-Shailung to provide year-round access to water for both drinking and agricultural use to 115 households. The project, which officially began in April, is a joint effort between ISARD, Engineers Without Borders Karlsruhe (EWB Karlsruhe), and the Managaun Construction Committee.
Over the past two years, ISARD and EWB Karlsruhe have worked closely, holding multiple consultations to identify the most suitable location to implement this vital water system. This partnership builds on a previous short-term collaboration in Dhuskun, Sindhupalchowk.
The primary aim is to ensure consistent water supply for the community throughout the year. Through this project, ISARD looks forward to learning from EWB Karlsruhe’s technical design, operational models, and project management practices. At the same time, ISARD brings local expertise and strong community engagement to the table, hoping these strengths will contribute positively to the success and sustainability of the initiative.
